Afterschool for Kids

Catering to students with limited English skills, the Afterschool
kids program provides tutoring and educational activities for
children 5-18 years of age. Learning sessions are designed to
improve academic achievements of all children enrolled, and
the program continues during the summer months with regularly
scheduled activities.
All Afterschool students benefit from onsite access to a variety
of educational resources, such as:
- Large library of children’s reading materials, including
many primary and secondary school textbooks.
- Computer lab complete with learning programs, and secure,
supervised internet activities.
- Tutors available to instruct and mentor each individual
student.
For school year 2007-08 SWCA will collaborate with the Columbus

online assessment and accountability solutions and standards-based
professional development services. There are more than 6,000
hours of objective-based, problem-solving courseware, plus assessment,
alignment, and curriculum management tools available with this
program. SWCA is pleased to be in collaboration with CPS in
this venture.
