High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure or Hypertension is when the force of blood against the arteries is too high

What are the symptoms?

  • Most of the time there are no symptoms
  • If left untreated, can lead to heart attack and stroke

How can I avoid getting high blood pressure?

  • Eat healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables
  • Avoid too much salt in foods or foods high in fat
  • Do not smoke
  • Exercise
  • If you have diabetes or high cholesterol, make sure you take prescribed medicines

How do I know if I have it?

  • Your blood pressure readings is over 140/90

What should I do if I have high blood pressure?

  • Take medicine as prescribed
  • Follow suggestions above to avoid high blood pressure
